Clone Malfunction.

My normal (and current) skin...
Upon making a machine to transfer his life, his body needed to be remade with mechanical innards to avoid death upon awakening, Although the transfer of his life was a success, and the machine now holds it, guarding it... Someone... Someone had sabotaged the machine causing his skin to thin and weaken... The 30th cloned body (this one) had skin so thin, it was almost paper like, and just crinkled and burned.

Experiencing 29 previous deaths really desensitizes you to pain, so his face remains numb.

His battle torn mask is all that protects his face from the outside world. The skin on his head is really so thin that whatever hairs still grow, are growing under the somewhat translucent skin.
