Daisy watched, her silver fur bristling, as a single wolf stepped into the firelight. He was at least twice the size of an average wolf, and his glowing red eyes stuck out in sharp contrast to his midnight-black pelt. His fur bristled, the tips of each hair reflecting the flickering light of the campfire. A certain stench of rotten food clung to his pelt, a testimony of his living a rough, underfed life in the wilderness. He curled his lips at her, revealing long, savage fangs. Daisy *****ed her ears and stood in a ready stance, facing the wild wolf.

The wild wolf suddenly became docile and his eyes filled with a light of recognition as he gazed back at Daisy. 'Hello there, sister!' he greeted her, his thick black tail waving excitedly. 'Do you remember me? I'm your brother, Shadow!' 'Brother!' Daisy gasped in amazement, 'I thought I'd never see you again!' 'As if I'd let that happen!' Shadow laughed. The terrifying wild wolf was not a big, scary, and mean after all
