To wrap up, when creating a contest, you want to think about what type of event you will be hosting. Try to make things as clear as possible and be open to any number of entries, little or small.
Finally, you need to send out invites. This is probably the most important part of getting others to participate. Send a message out to people's profiles, but you NEED to make sure that they have somewhere on their profile (either in the bio or comments) if they are accepting contests or not. Inviting someone to a contest who has stated that they don't want any on their profile is a very unkind thing to do and could result in them getting upset at you. Be careful when inviting others, so always double check. In your invitation message, it's okay to copy and paste for each profile you send it on. You'll want to include something cheerful at the beginning, a link to the contest, and the due date.
If you're struggling with creating something unique, it doesn't hurt to look at other contests that inspire you. If you take heavy inspiration from one, don't forget to mention the original creator's name in the description or comments of your upload.
