Observe the way I did it. (You can shape the hair any way you want.)
I've used many shads of red, I want you to look at the button that has a minus, btw not the zoom out button. Click it, and the color that you chose will get darker. I recommend using it to make the shades darker to look detailed. (There is another one with a plus, it will lighten your color.)
