Story in comments, it's quite short, and ik it doesn't explain much, but it was quite rushed! Uhm that's it!

A jolt of electricity brings me back to the present, and I find myself on the floor outside the computer labs. I sigh and shake my head, and continue down the corridor.

But, even those few times that I was free of it, by the time I blinked, it would be back. The repetitive MOONCAST display that flash on and off drove me mad sometimes, but hey, the protection was worth it. I mean, what wouldnt I give for a force field, after all Ive been through.

I heave myself out of my chair and leave the computer lab. The door slides shut behind me, the metallic clang echoing along the hallway. I glance down at the metal bracelet on my wrist. If I hadnt been wearing it when I walked through that door, Id be a pile of bones on the floor. Dramatic, I know, but its true. The programmed chip in my head kicks in and I have a flashback to years ago. So, so many years ago, when I was first assigned to this place, I spent days trying to get it off.

I glared at the unresponsive screen, the dull blue shine illuminating my scowling face. Four months. Thats how long wed spent on this project. But all for nothing. I sighed and turned away from the monitor, the warehouse quiet around me. The staff left hours ago, and anyone else remaining must be doing a brilliant job of hiding their presence in this drab, empty building.
