i've tried that but a lot of times they're too light or too dark, i feel like it's also not accurate. is that what you use?

here, this should hopefully help, i was dumb and made it sideways, but it should help make it more clear how i make hair :)

theres a feature on the side bar you can press thats a marker, itll accuratly lighten and darken colors, the icons are a marker with a + symbol to darken, and a marker with a - symbol to lighten, hope this helps!

cuz like the problem im having is choosing the right colors that match and i cant figure out what looks good on the outer layer
