Here we are...BOWS.
Everyone wants to be pretty!!... but there is a few simple rules I have for bows.
If you look at the top of the skin I have left the palette I used a labeled them 1 (lightest tone) to 5 (darkest shade).
A good practice is always begin in the center, it will help your placement and you wont get confused by my directions. Another thing to do, the actual knots of bows are always darkest. The 'bunny ears' that branch out from the knots are lighter. Then the 'tails' if you choose to have them, are close to the same shade as the 'ears' but alternate darker shades as the ribbon ripples downward.
With bigger bows ( and ones with the center 2 pixels or larger) the knots get a little spaced out, therefore a slightly lighter tone in between the knots. and the bunny ears grow lighter and lighter toward the outside edge.
Does this make a lick of sense? Boy I sure hope so haha! When adding the 3D layer, you want your bunny ears to stand out!

And just to adle your brains a bit more, remember like with any kind of art... rules are meant to be broken. Experiment, practice and find your own style if you see a better way!! This is just what has worked for me so far :)
