FUN FACTS ABOUT SUN BEARS:
- The sun bear is one of the rarest bear species in the world
- It is the smallest species of bear, with a length of up to 5 feet and weighing up to 150 pounds
- Sun bears are actually nocturnal despite their name
- According to legend, their chest patch resembles the rising sun, hence the name sun bear
- Their lifespan is about 25 years in the wild and up to 30 years in captivity
- Each bears chest mark is individual -like fingerprints
- They spend most of their time in trees
- Sun bears copy each others facial expressions to communicate, sooo adorable!
