the marker buttons make the color a couple shades lighter or darker. the minus marker makes it lighter, and the plus marker makes it darker

paintbrush/autotone just makes it look like wool, and works for a little bit of dimension, compared to just a plain color

you need paint.net it makes editing skins so easy, and saying you use it makes you sound smart. LOL
