Michael Afton is the son of William Afton and shares very many similar features with him. In 1983, he resulted in the death of his younger brother, Norman Afton, making his father go insane, since he had also lost his daughter recently. Michael Afton was hated by his father, and his father made many attempts to kill him as well as went off killing other people's children. Michael Afton is trying to fix what his father has done and may be the protagonist in most of the games.
