He would kill the king today.' They flew on the great beasts at such a tremendous speed that soon the palace came into view. 'Land in the stables,' whispered Jasmine. They came down, and hopped off the dragons. Silently they walked to the palace. The king was in the yard, as if expecting them. He wasn't fazed at all as they approached. 'Yes, children?' He boomed. His famous, deep voice ec***d in the night. Jasmine took a deep breath. 'Sire, my father wants the throne.

He is planning to assassinate you tomorrow.' She squeaked. 'Yes, I know. We have prepared to stop him. But thank you for warning me. I know you cannot return to your home after this. Follow me.' He turned and strode towards his palace. dumbfounded, the children followed him. 'Mother?!' Yelled Michael. 'Michael!' His mother cried. She ran forward and swept him into her arms. They walked away together, happy. 'And you, my dear. My dear, dear daughter.' whispered the king, 'You are a princess.'

Ever since he was only a kitchen slave. This was a shock to him. 'I-I'll help.'

That night, they crept through the courtyard. All was silent. 'This way,' whispered Jasmine. The stables had just come into view, and they could hear the snorting of the dragons. 'Quick, pick one.' They each selected a dragon, and hopped on to their backs. They took off into the night sky. 'So, where are we going?' asked Michael. 'The palace. We're warning the king. I heard father say he wasn't wasting more dragons.
Early the next morning, Jasmine awoke. She was late! She ran down the hall, racing to the courtyard. 'You're too late. You missed it.' 'Michael! You're talking to me!' She gasped. 'Yeah, I felt bad. What's the full story?' he asked. 'Father... father wants the throne. He knows he is next in line, but he wants to be there. He is going to kill King Guiriard!' she whispered, 'I need your help to stop him.' Michael nodded, his eyes wide. He had always been faithful to the lord. (cont'd)
Starnton put you on duty, right? So do you need help finding her?' 'Michael! Stop! I found the thief already.' Jasmine lied. 'What?! When?! How?! Why did you call me, then?!' He yelled. Jasmine sighed. she didn't want to lie more, but... 'She's me. I'm her. Wait, you don't know the full story...' Michael's face disappeared. Jasmine sighed again. Why did she lie? Well, she would see him tomorrow. Her father wanted to talk to all the scouts in training.
Jasmine continued on to her bedroom. She sat down on her bed, and decided she would ask Michael to help her with her father. She pulled open her bedside drawer and grabbed her amulet. She knew that Michael always wore his. Jasmine tapped it twice, and it heated up. Moments later, Michael's face swam into view. 'Jaz! You almost never talk anymore! What do you need?' he asked. 'Help. I need help, Mich-' he interrupted: 'So, have you heard of the dragon thief? Wait- of course! (cont'd)
'Fool child! Of course she ain't! I saw her meself, last night! She was dressed in black, she was, and as solid_as me! I felt her sleeve, I did!' Starnton barked. Jasmine's throat was dry. What could she say to this?_If she told him he was wrong, he would grind her to a pulp! Better just to give in. 'Yes, Starnton! You definitely did! Of course I will go. What time?' 'Midnight tonight.' He grumbled, 'I don't even know if you deserve to go.'
