Moth realized Frost was lying about the not liking the Clans and that caused Hawk to defend Frost because he fell for her too and knew there was probably a good explanation about what happened. Frost then set out to find his family to reassure them that he's fine. Once she meets them, she falls in love with Hawk. She didn't want to straight up tell them that she'd seen what happened as they probably wouldn't believe her. She did keep an eye on them from a distance and tried to keep them from going to the Clans as Crow was in BloodClan and she didn't want them to go there and find him and have him tell them she knew about it before she told them. Darktail doesn't really know how to swim so he reaches the surface of the water after Sasha, Hawk and Moth had left. Frost gets Tadpole to breath again, and doesn't really think about it when she leaves him with Darktail because of her original mission. A few days later, she realizes the mistake she'd made when Darktail returns to BloodClan with Crow, who Frost later found out was Tadpole because he told her Darktail had saved him from drowning in a twoleg den and he owed him his life.

When she came across Sasha and Pine asking some other BloodClan cats about some kits. She ignores it and continues looking for Pebble until she comes across Sasha and Pine again at the flooding twoleg den. She decides to observe from a distance, a window opposite Sasha. She sees three kits in the water, Hawk, Moth and Tadpole. Sasha successfully saves Hawk and Moth but Tadpole gets pulled under water. Frost gets ready to jump in after him, when Darktail stops her and goes to get Tadpole himself.
