This is a Hivewing, my first attempt, which I think looks pretty bad.

Anyways, this dragon from Pantala has a mind-link, like ants, and they have many defense mechanisms. They have poison stingers, like Sandwings, or venom, like Rainwings, or even a stench mechanism.

This reminds me of Bumblebee rather than a generic HiveWing. Maybe rather than black stripes, put black splotches all over the place like a RainWing. Or you could make the stripes thicker and have less of them.

True. But hey, I'm not entirely sure what the Hivewings look like. I'm just going off of a hazy image of them from when I read the 11th and 12th books.

*hazy as in, the image before the books starts in the description, and I can't remember it clearly...*
