'Look to the Hero's Headquarters,' the Harbinger said. 'Now you see it...'
The alien warship's cannon fired at the building, disintegrating it.
'...Now you don't. You have seven days, humans. Starting now.'
Sky ran to the window. She looked up. 'Oh... my... god...'
His voice came over the speakers. 'Greetings, people of Earth.'
'Oh, no...' Rob said, dropping his plate.
'Rob, who is it?' Sky asked. He pointed at the TV, motioning for her to be quiet.
'Well,' Sky said, 'You DID save my life from that shadowy thingy.'
Rob looked at her, serious. 'Sky, that was nothing.'
Sky looked back at him. 'But it WAS something, Rob. And I'm grateful.' She put her hand on his shoulder.
'Sky, I-'
Suddenly, the program on the television cut off, replaced with a video feed of a throne room. Guarding the throne were two shadow creatures, and on the throne was HIM.
Sky took it. 'Thanks, Rob.'
'Hey, no problem, Sky,' he said, sitting down. 'It's the least I can do. I mean, you're letting me crash here until I can find a safe place to live.'
'It's really not that big of a deal, Rob,' Sky said. 'Besides, I owe you one.'
As Sky sits on the couch, watching TV, Rob's voice comes from the kitchen. 'Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?'
Sky turns around, rolling her eyes. 'Rob, you wish you were Dwayne Johnson.'
'No, Dwayne Johnson wishes he was me,' Rob replied, flexing.
Sky laughed. 'What ARE you cooking, anyway?'
'An old family recipe. Spaghetti and meat sauce,' Rob replied, grinning.
'That sounds great, Rob,' Sky said, smiling.
During that time, Rob and Sky have grown close. Now they are fast friends.
But there is something deeper. Something that makes Rob look at Sky, and remember the days of his past.
What are the secrets of Rob's past? And why is Sky so important to him?
All will be answered soon.*
