Once again, a big thanks to MellowNoodle for giving me inspiration for this.
oh gosh this can't end well-

either for sky + rob or for mystery man over there

is it bad that im slightly rooting for mystery man? maybe my characters like to sneak around too much xD

Once again, a big thanks to MellowNoodle for giving me inspiration for this.
Sky drew a pair of katanas from thin air. 'Isn't that the thing from the bank?' she asked?

Rob pressed a button on his watch, and a suit of armor appeared. 'Yep.'

The creature looked at them with its red eyes. In a voice that sounded like nails against a chalkboard, it said, 'Rob Simeon. Sky Manchez. My master wants you dead.' It extended its talons and growled at them.

*How did it know our names?* Rob thought.

Before he could complete his thought, the creature lunged, talons ready to kill.
'You looked a little shocked to see me, Rob. May I ask why?'

*I can't tell her. Not yet,* he thought. 'You... just reminded me of someone I knew once.'

'Really? Who?'

'An old friend,' Rob said. 'From back home.'

She arched her eyebrow again. 'Oh? Where are you from?'

Rob thought before answering. 'I-'

Suddenly, the door to the bar flew off its hinges, startling both Sky and Rob. As they both got up and turned towards the doorway, a figure cloaked in shadows walked through.
'Well, I don't have powers, per se. I just made a suit of armor that grants me abilities.'

'Like?'

'Flight, speed, strength, endurance. Oh, and electrical discharges.'

'So, basically, you're like Palpatine?' she asked, her eyebrow arched.

'Well, yeah, kinda. Only with the electrical stuff, though. I'm not a Sith lord.'

'I know THAT!' she said, smirking.

Rob chuckled a little. 'Yeah. That's me, Captain Obvious.'

Sky chuckled a little as well. *She has the cutest laugh,* he thought.
Sky blushed a little. 'Yeah. I kinda looked at your ID. Sorry about that.'

'Hey, it's fine, Sky,' Rob said.

'How did you know my name?' Sky asked him suddenly, staring at him intently.

*Oh, crap,* he thought. 'Um... I heard the bartender say it.'

Sky relaxed. 'Oh. OK. That makes sense, actually.'

*Phew,* Rob thought, *she believed me.*

'So, you know I have powers. What are yours?' Sky asked, sipping her tequila.

(And, before you guys ask, both characters are over twenty-one.)
'No problem. Mind if I sit with you?' she asked.

'Um... sure,' Rob said nervously. *Get yourself together, Rob!*

As she sat down next to Rob, Larry served him and asked Sky, 'The usual?'

'You know me well, Larry,' Sky said, smiling.

She turned to Rob. 'Now, I WAS going to ask you some questions at the bank. Then you took off.'

'Um, yeah. Sorry about that.'

'Hey, no problem,' Sky said. 'So, who are you?'

'My name is Rob Simeon. But, you already knew that, right?'
Rob turned around. Standing in the door of the hotel bar was Sky. She was wearing a pair of reading glasses, a white undershirt, and a brown leather blazer.

*How did she find me?* Rob wondered.

Sky walked over, showing Larry Rob's ID card. Larry looked at it, nodded, and said, 'OK, Sky.' He then turned to Rob and said, 'Sorry about that, sir. Let me get you your drink now.'

As Larry walked off, Sky turned to Rob and handed him the wallet. 'Here, you dropped this.'

Rob took it. 'Thanks.'
*One hour later...*

'Sorry, sir. I can't serve you without a form of ID.' The bartender stood there, his arms crossed, glaring at Rob.

Look, sir, like I said, I dropped my wallet. It had my ID in it,' Rob said. *God, I need a drink.*

'Sir, while I understand your situation, I legally can not serve you without a valid form of ID.'

'Don't worry, Larry. I can vouch for him.'
