Basically, Hue shifting and your own unique style + lighting psychics. First the Hue shifting. Ok so Hue-shifting is essentially just going from say orange - yellow by shifting the little colour wheel around. You can do this aswell as the x/z thing (Lightening and Darkening) It basically adds more vibrancy and texture?to the skin.
The unique style part is pretty easy, as its just coming up with your own shading style! (i dont have one because thats basically my unique way of shading) so yeah
The lighting psychics is sorta more complicated i guess? well anyways its basically where the lighter parts and darker parts go. this is why most skinners dont reccomend using the auto texture tool because you get random dark spots and random light spots all over. So say youre making a skin with lights on it like a miner for example) with a helmet or something like that which has a light on it, you just put the lightest shades around that light then fade slowly into the darker.

ok tysm!
you can also use the +pencil and -pencil to find shades of one color
mangos is quite simple, mine is more advanced but looks a little more complex, depends on your style :)
but I CAN recommend trying out a shading style like mine or WinterMango's
lol idk, it just comes naturally. Don't overdo it, I stick to 5-6 colors at a time, (look at my HBs)
