Okay, that's the end of Chapter Two :D

''Uh, uh- Winter, just try to put it out!'' Avery says, ''I'm putting out the flames.''

With a big effort of will, I manage to put out the flame.

The fire around me slowly dies down until there's nothing left. Not even smoke.

I basically rip off the suit and turn around, nearly hitting Avery in the head.

I don't acknowledge it and instead yell, ''What was that???''

Avery's eyes are shocked. ''A... a hybrid power. Shadowfire.''

I barely heard it, but I had, I know I did.

Then happened again. The flames lowered a little, barely anything, but noticeable.

'I focused on that sizzle and tried to will it to become larger. I heard a pop, like a spark, but nothing more.

Then a small flame burst out of my hand.

I shrieked. This fire was /not/ normal.

No, no.

This was the literal opposite of everything firey in the world. It was black, gray, blue, purple, lots of faded colors opposite of red.

''What. Is. This?''

''Testing.'' I jump about a mile high. Avery's voice was coming from /inside/ the helmet encasing my head. He laughs. ''Just microphone in the hood. Now try to control the flames or summon one of your own.''

''Okay.''

/I can put it out, I can put it out, I can put it out./ I begin to repeat this mantra in my head.

I concentrate so hard my head hurts.

There a small sizzling sound, mixing with the crackling around me, but it was different.
