You know I had to do it to you. I tried keeping it happier, but I have to transition. And boom, this is where my persona comes from! My persona isn't Lise, because I came up with and like Skyler better. Expect the next chapter in a while.

'Well, Lise, welcome to The Alternate'

Skyler and Alex led her out of the building, and through a strange neighborhood. It seemed to have every style of house next to each other. Modern. Cabins. Mansions. Apartments. After about 20 minutes, they made it to a small camp, with small houses set in a ring. 'This is where we stay, it's the easiest place to keep everyone together' Said Alex. They passed through a sign, and Skyler turned and spread her arms wide.

'My parents were frantic. Once they saw us, my mom yelled at my dad to leave. She seemed insane, to be honest. Then she walked into my room and set it on fire. We tried escaping, but she pulled my brother in and they both were inside when the house collapsed. My- wait, where's my sister?' Alex said softly 'She didn't have it, Lise. She isn't here.' 'Alex, let her calm down. She lost her sister, and her mom and brother just died.' Alex nodded grimly.

'You can take your time. We know what it's like, we've been through it too.' Without warning, she pulled Lise into an embrace. When she let go, Lise felt a little better. Maybe string enough to talk. 'W-we were living normally, until we got letters about some law. Then, my parents went nuts in a fight, and the next day me and my siblings went to school early. When we got ba-' Her voice cracked, but she continued. Skyler and Alex looked at her in concern.

'You go first' she pointed to her partner, who was apparently named Alex 'Well, the name's Alex. 19 years. There, happy? Now you go.' The girl rolled her eyes and said 'Meadows, Skyler Meadows. 19 years as well. What's your name, and what happened before you woke up?' Lise swallowed and said 'I'm Lise. I'm 13. Before I woke up I-' She crumpled, remembering the flames, her brother's cries. Skyler lurched and gripped Lise to stop her from falling. She crouched, and looked into Lise's eyes.

The girl looked from the boy, to Lise, and back again. She burst out laughing. 'Oh, man, Alex! The look on both your faces, is, is just so-' she branched off into laughter. Lise was ready to run. She must have looked terrified, because the boy got up and said 'Hey, we promised we wouldn't hurt you, and we didn't.' The girl said 'To be fair, you hurt us instead!' she seemed to have calmed down. 'We should do some introductions.'

She unlocked the door and peeked to the direction where the footsteps and come and gone from. Nothing. She ran in the opposite direction, only to run into someone. She gasped and teetered, avoiding a fall. The other person wasn't so lucky. On the ground, she saw a tall boy with blond hair, pale skin, and blue eyes looking at her in confusion. She saw another pair of feet and looked up. A tall girl with short brown hair, in-the-middle skin, and deep green eyes looking back at her.

Why was she still in her school uniform? She was truly puzzled now. All of a sudden, she heard steps coming down the hall. She raced back into 'her room' and slammed the door. After about five seconds of steps, someone knocked on her door. 'Hey, anyone in here? We promise we aren't here to hurt you. Lise was trembling near the window. She considered jumping out and running away, but it looked like she was on a higher floor. She held her breath until the footsteps left, two voices talking.

Lise woke up back in her room with wet tears on her face. Had it all been a dream? She was excited at this possibility. She got down from her bed and walked out of her room, planning to go wake up Connor and Avery. But the hallway wasn't the same as her house. It was more like a apartment building. She scratched her head, and noticed her arm. It was covered in scratches from Connor grasping it. She was near tears as she realized it had all actually happened. She looked down.
