I set the note on Josh's bed. "He should see that," I said. "Hopefully" said Josephine before we left. We hiked through the woods until we reached the front door of the great house. I knocked on the door, and Mom answered. "Hey, Mom. This little girl was outside, her brother's the only family she has left, but he's nowhere to be seen" I said. Mom knelt down to the girl. "Oh, honey. I am so sorry to hear that. I'll let you stay here. We also have a boy who's around your age, his name is Jordan" said Mom. Josephine smiled. "Oh, thank you, thank you!" said the girl. "Just tell my little brother it's Josephine," I said. "Yeah, that's my name. Josephine Gardiner" said Josephine. Mom nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Josephine. I hope your brother didn't starve you" said Mom before closing the door. The next day, I was sitting on the couch in the Great House with Jordan and Josephine. "Goldie, I never see you around much" said Jordan. "Well, unfortunately, I'm really busy, so of course I can't be around for you. But you have everyone in here. And even better, you now have Josephine" I told him. A knock on the door ec***d across the house. I went to answer the door.
