It’s the Minecraft dirt block texture in their banner. I think it was copyrighted by Mojang, so that’s why they had to change it to something else.
That would make some what sense on why it was changed, but on the other hand. Backgrounds of skins still contain imagines of minecraft itself, including dirt/grass blocks, other blocks, trees, the whole works. So it also doesn't make any sense.

maybe that DMCA tab at the bottom of the page is their "answers" to the complaints lol
also I thought they were gonna revamp skin editor tool and improve other thingies when they said that they were like updating skindex but nothing changed except the banner and the number of tabs at the bottom tho
pretty disappointed about their "renewal" thing.
