Changed my mind on entering :,8
Tbc a little later
“It smells sweet my dear sister.. sweet like the blood of our father.”
“Should we go see what it is Hansel? Maybe it’s another human!”
Gretle’s eyes widened.. wanting to taste human flesh once more.. after all they both were hungry after not getting another soul in so long.. so hungry waiting for food on their tongues. Hansel held her hand as he led her into the forest towards the smell, wanting whatever glorious flesh awaited them both in that forest.
“Gretle, is that.. a cabin?”
“It appears so Hansel.”
“Shall we go to it? The smell seems to come from it.”
Their mouths were salivating at the thought of food.. wondering what story they’d have to spin to achieve it.
“How else are we to find our way back Gretle?”
“Brother, what is that in the air?”
The air was sweet like candy in the forest, unknowing to the demons they had enter a witch’s forest, an unforgiving monster that wasn’t yet numbed?? and that ate children as a way to cope with humans burning those they find strange.. But that woman wasn’t a witch, just a woman without love or affection for the years she had been alive.. enough to the point she couldn’t forgive or love humanity for it’s crimes against her. Not all stories have a fair and happy ending after all, and her fate was already sealed once the children smelled the candy.
The back of a cover: What happened if Hansel and Gretle was a bit different.. What if the children weren’t abandoned because of famine? What if they had been abandoned because they were demons. Demons who ate the villagers, Demons that left chaos in their wake.

Hansel had left a train of blood behind in the forest as he followed his sister Gretle, claiming souls as their own. Decapitated bodies lay in their wake as they continued walking, no fear hid in their eyes as they walked, no remorse for their horrific actions against humanity. Nothing human left in their innocent yet evil minds.
“Do you ever feel bad leaving behind a trail of blood Hansel?”
