Community Interview: The importance of the Skindex community!
Welcome back to InterviewingSkindex, where we shall discuss - together - the importance of the Skindex community!
Over the years, Skindex has had its bumpy road of toxicity within the community; then there's been that dimly lit lap in the corner of the room that nobody seems to have noticed, which is the wonderful part of this site! I want you, the readers, to share and express your opinions on the community, and of its pros and cons. What do you think we - as a community - could do better, to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome? I would love to hear from you all!

something i see has been mentioned s few times id that bigger skinners have ignored some smaller skinners
i dont think that ever really happened to me and im happy abt that but there have been lots of other really talented skinners that have been ignored by big creators bc of their follower count which sucks
(sometimes it's the fault of the smaller user). Aside from that, the only thing I can really say is all the meme and item skins that get on the front page (I feel like they speak for themselves.)
Cons: Dislike bombing and stealing- tho as long as reports r put in stolen skins get taken down in a reasonable amount of time for the most part- I saw some people saying the moderation wasn't that great- but I originated on Skinseed, so ANY moderation is good moderation to me.
Also side note: yeh i agree with some of the people in the comments who were saying it's not that toxic, bc it really isn't. Imo, if you don't want toxicity don't talk to toxic people. People are toxic. Not sites as a whole.
as a creative community, we thrive off the thoughts of original and unique works. as a genre, skins become boring when it is consistently one-dimensional and always the same. lets apply this with people too!
also i don't know who in the right mind would agree with the idea that having a similar name =/ impersonation. believing this is absurd and ignorant of the harsh reality. (provided its a generally unique name/larger creator) also, even if the account did nothing, the attention given is misdirected and overall can harm the credibility of our platform WHEN something is done.
opinions can differ but as long as it stays respectful and isn't an outright threat is better. (can think of one time that I was basically attacked because I commented something that didn't agree with the rest of the population, but it wasn't even aggressive or disrespectful?)
just being nice to people is just better, you can make many friends on this site too, it's a great way to share interests ^^ the smaller skinners really just have to band together on this site, if I have a large follow count someday I still would look out for smaller creators-
