Kara walked through the house door, and noticed Ash returning with some diamonds.
“How many did you get?” Kara asked.
“Three, just enough for a pickaxe,” Ash responded, using one arm to push through the door.
Kara looked back towards the forest, waiting for Tasha to be standing on top a tree, flint and steel in hand, a red shine in her eye. But, Tasha was indeed not standing on top of a tree ready to burn the world to the ground. She was instead, admiring a bee flying around its nest, what Kara thought was typical Tasha.
Kara moved past Tasha, and Tasha said nothing, just admiring the bee. She looked back towards Tasha for a second, looked back forward, feeling chills go down her spine.
“Hey,” Tasha said, out of the blue.
Kara looked back to see Tasha running up to her. One of Tasha’s overall straps was down, because of the angle the overall pouch was because of the falling strap, to Kara’s horror, a flint and steel could be seen. Kara tried to keep her resting face instead of a shocked look. She did it pretty well, and Tasha began to tell her how she was going to betray the boys and it was going to be fun, how it was all fun and games. Kara just knew it wasn’t.
