I raise my head a little, and she says, “Everything’s going to be okay. Mom isn’t going anywhere.”
“How do you know that?” I ask in a small voice. “She looked like she was going to... go somewhere...”
“Yes, I don’t know that she’ll be okay. But I have hope, and hope is the most important thing you can have in situations like these.” She grabs both my hands and smiles.
