Hello!!

here's lesson two (mostly clothes shading today, but also some general shading), and yes it's been a while since last lesson, but as i said, this is not my main focus rn

okay lets get started!

so shading
that's hard
When you're making a skin, an artwork or anything really, where you put the shadows is CRUCIAL to make it look good, or believable if that's what you're going for
if i were to explain shading in its simplest form, id say "shade where there is shadow"
although that's correct
it's not really that simple
especially when you're talking abt mc skins because style is also involved
and that's perhaps even more complicated if you look at my style, it looks very different from for example bloomingazalea's style https://www.minecraftskins.com/profile/6837317/bloomingazalea
and compare that to maybe gumholic https://www.minecraftskins.com/profile/3539840/gumoholic
or strqwbxrri https://www.minecraftskins.com/profile/7096242/strqwbxrrii
and you'll see that they are all very different in terms of shading especially

you could have a more complicated style, like myself perhaps or a simpler style like itscrayne or axolxtll

ok the rest in the comments

if yall don’t mind me interjecting, here’s some shading I made just now. It should help you visualize where basic shadows will occur, and how intense they may be :)
I hope it will help at least a little :)

Thx :D
Kinda, but like where do u put the light colors and darker colors in the shadow? Is there a specific order to which u put it together?

Tysm for sharing all this :0 <3
You can search up images on google or pinterest to see how shadows are in a spesific type of clothing that u wanna shade, or if it's something really obscure you can just try to make it make sense! :D
I highly suggest using pinterest or google tho
