I stare at her hard again, not realizing it. My eyes are gigantic and Kelly giggles. I slowly look away from her, and stare at the bracelet. I eventually put it on. I feel a slight electric wave through my body.

Once she has a second to calm down, I ask her what is so special about it. She responds with, “it lets you see the future. You can know when something is a bad choice, vs. a good choice. It could show you between life or death. I have avoided death 3 times because of this bracelet. You may now put it on, since you know what it now means.”

“You’ll see. Your grandfather is actually a scientist. He found a way to do something very special. While doing the project, he ended up in the emergency room quite a few times while trying to find out how to do this.” Kelly looks like she is about to start sobbing. She has tears in her eyes. She kept sniffling. “Each one is sold for $3,000,000,000. These are very special, and use many dangerous things. You need to be grateful for this, as your grandfather, or my dad, gave both of ours for free, as we are part of his family.” She sniffles some more. I saw tears streaming down her face now. I went in for a hug. She hugs back.

Once I opened it, I saw a bracelet. I felt very underwhelmed. Right when I was about to put it on, Kelly shouted, “WAIT!”

“What? It’s literally just a bracelet, Mama.”

“It’s not a bracelet. It’s the power bracelet.” Mom sounded mysterious when she said that.

“What’s a power bracelet, Mama?”
