ooh nice!
i had the appt booked since over a month ago and that was the first opening (bc everyone wanted to get their hair done before starting school/work/etc)
i've dyed my hair a bunch of times, but it's my first time doing split dye :)
thank you<333
i used to be really caught up in always making a more and more complicated shading because i thought that was what "getting better at skinning" looked like. i only ended up burning myself out and not look forward to shading.
eventually i decided that i didn't need to worry about making the most complexly shaded skin i could. i stopped using a specific shading style, and instead used improvised shading. starting out, i took inspiration from sailoronionmoon and twixxed. i've been branching out on my own more though and just shading.. well, whatever way feels "right" to me haha"
so i'd say trial and error + exposure to so many different styles were my biggest teachers in learning to shade this way
2 depends on the skin. besides fanskins, i don't take inspo often unless it's to study something unfamiliar. last time i did, it was to look at the way to shade folds on a draped cloth from one of sailoronionmoon's skins<3
3 pork buns and baja blast- definitely wouldn't go together though lmao
4 a pmc-exclusive one i made earlier this week (https://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/f-a-princess-im-a-king-100th-skin/)
dark academia/other subsets of academia, nu-goth, a lot of subsets of alternative fashion, auroracore and other ethereal/fantasy aesthetics, polished/semiformal aesthetics (especially blending it with something edgy and creating "grown up goth" lmao), and anything intentionally androgynous (deep necklines, billowy sleeves, nothing super fitted for a top, etc)
inspo for designs is a hard one. there's nowhere i go to specifically look for inspiration; i'm just familiar with a lot about silhouette and shape and usually i play around with making outlines until i find something that i really want to work with. other times i already have a specific idea in mind from just a thought in my head or from music, characters, lyrics, poetry lines, or a silhouette that inspires me
your fashion style is super awesome >:0 !!
1. What inspired you to start skinning?
2. Who inspired your skins, or are they all original?
3. Fav food/drink?
4. Fav skin you made?
Hehe :3
