Hey hey hey!

So I’m a teacher for this thing called Skindex School, and my student is mochaaa. Onto the lesson!

-Terminology-
Hue shifting is when you change the color or hue to shade. The hue is the general color, such as red, purple, orange, etc. Saturation is the vibrancy of a color. For example, dull, gray colors are desaturated and bright colors such as hot pink are saturated. Hue shifting makes skins and art in general more realistic and vibrant.

-How do I hue shift?-
It’s relatively simple! You take your base color, and move the outer circle to the left or right .* After moving the outer circle, you move the inner circle (usually on a square or triangle) up/down a little bit to make the color lighter/darker and to the left/right to make it more saturated or less saturated. You NEVER want to just move the inner circle up or down.

*A general rule of thumb is to move towards purple/violet for shadows and yellow for highlights

Homework will be in the comments!

Yes, you can do that. And yes, due date is the 23rd
Yes, and I want you to hue shift. I’m not sure what you mean by “in your style” though. And you can use two colors if you want. And I’m thinking Saturday for the due date.

*Homework*

I want you to recolor the hair base on the back using one of the colors I’ve provided. Hue shift following the directions in the description. You can also shade the face with any one of the four colors on the right side of the head

*Extra*
I’ve made some examples of colors with and without hue shifting. The inside palettes are hue shifted and the outsides have been lightened/darkened without moving the circles. Another note, NEVER USE PURE WHITE OR BLACK. Instead, use a very light or dark version of a main color on your skin. For example, on my persona, you can see that my black shirt is just really dark purple.
