Wolf Child

"Bye, Jay!" Grace said. "I'll be back by morning," Jay replied, “Bye.” He turned swiftly and ran out into the moon-lit night. Jay was a small, fast wolf with orange-brown fur and sharp, yellow eyes. He had white on his long legs and around his paws and eyes. Jay was in a pack with me, Grace. We had a small wolf pup, whose name was Willow. She had white fur and gray eyes. I was similar looking to Jay. “I hope he comes back soon,” Grace said under her breath, “I could never forgive myself if he didn’t come back.” “M..” came a faint voice. “M.. mo.. momma?” Grace recognized the voice and quickly ran to Willow’s part of the den. She was so surprised to hear Willow’s voice, for she had never heard her pup talk, that she practically fell through the den. Once she reached Willow’s room, she came to an abrupt stop in front of the doorway. She entered the room, expecting to see Willow in her bed, but what he saw was incredible. Instead of a small child, Grace saw Willow in her wolf form. Most wolves learned to change into their wolf forms when they were two years old, but Willow was only a few months old and had learned it completely on her own.
