tis a poem i wrote, posing as an excerpt from the writings of a fictional character, just so thats clear xD

Prologue: Lamentations

Hearken, hearken to the tale
Of a world dark in veil.

For moons and moons reigned has strife,
War claiming life after life.

In a time long past, there was peace,
Alas, ‘tis gone, now mortalities increase.

From the mountains mantled with the sky abruised,
The dragons emerged, maws ablaze.

For heresy grave had been committed,
And the dragons vowed for the humans to be omitted.

The dwarves stay neutral, the fair folk impassive,
Though even now the war continues, massive.

Now as I rest ‘neath a sea of stars,
An old soul fading, as this world of ours

Crumbles to nothing under the wait of war,
An inexorable tide of blood and gore.

Still the dragons sing their pallid song,
The beacon of despair evermore prolonged.

As a famine plagues the world,
So the dragons plague us, our pleas unheard.

Though even as chaos reigns,
I’ve hope as my life fades,

That amidst the strife a hero shall arise,
And light with valor the desperate skies.
