ok! so if you don’t already know, hueshifting is when you gradually move from one hue to another, for example going from blue to purple to pink. thats one of the techniques i use to shade! I usually combine that with saturation shifting, which is when a color gradually transitions to gray or vice versa. darker colors are usually saturation shifted, to the point of being a dark to medium gray. then i hueshift and saturation shift, so moving around the color wheel and moving to the left across the square thingy in the middle lol. i try to move the same distance each time to make it more consistent! as for knowing what colors to use, certain colors lend themselves well to certain contexts. here’s a fun lil video if you want https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3pZZBdeiKt0
