happy earth day!! except its dying.
the worst impacts of climate change could be irreversible by 2030, and while our world leaders have promised "net-zero by 2050" they are relying on non-existent solutions that they hope will exist in the future when science is no where near producing this type of technologies. so how can you help this (belated) earth day?
1. reduce your meat and seafood consumption - a 1/3 pound burger uses 660 gallons of water to produce and overfishing is damaging our ocean's ecosystems. try meat substitutes or eating more fruits and veggies!
2. take public transport when you can - taking public transport reduces your carbon footprint and can reduce emissions!
3. buy less - it is nice to treat yourself to a shopping spree once in a while but try not to shop too much! and if you find yourself not using that product much or you have grown out of it, be sure to donate it to a local thrift shop or the salvation army!
do your part and spread the word! every ocean starts with a drop of water :)
if you would like to find out more, i recommend watching speeches by greta thunberg, seaspiracy or any other related documentry.
enjoy your day!
