Please don't use this, thank you!

My best friend keeps saying really negative stuff about how no one loves her, I keep trying to cheer her up, but she just says more negative stuff... She lies to me a lot, so idk if I can trust her anymore...

Well maybe you could tell her first and then do it
If she's suffering a lot from this then she might need this, and keeping it quiet prob won't help
Depression is common, and it makes ppl really insecure and away from everything they used to love. It is easily curable but many people tend to do nothing instead, this might be a severe case..and idk but people who have depression tend to suicidal thoughts

This might not be her or your fault, so instead of giving her compliments or telling her to cheer up, just spend time with her and maybe some tough love

Sorry for a SUPER late reply- but,

Both of us are home schooled and she said not to tell anyone- I don't want to break her trust

tell her she is unique say that she is important no matter what anyone says also just letting her know that
its going to be ok give her time, support her issues and let her speak it out
Thank you!

Maybe she wasn't faking..she let the barrier down a little but then brought it back up
Many people with depression mask it and don't like to accept help

She might need clinical help, so maybe tell your parents or a trusted adult
If you have a school counselor you could bring it up
I'm not sure though, she brings it up all the time, about how she feels, but when I say so many nice things she is just like whatever, I'm ugly anyways!

You could try and talk to her about her problems and what's bothering her
I tried that, but she didn't answer
Mioww
Everyone has a friend like that in their lives and I understand. Ask her what's wrong and try to spend more time with her. Try to dig deeper to find the reason why. Try to do it but don't force it or push it. Encourage her to do new things that in the hope of it that she becomes happy of it of doing it. If she likes art or something maybe try to get her to try Skindex, or if she likes cooking she can try to make a new food, etc.

Try to get her to meditate or do yoga it really relieves the stress and she might loosen up.

If none of this works pls tell me so I can try to give you more advice. Good Luck!!! <3
Okay, thank you for the advice! :> <3
