such a big ruckus about the 'Thief of Egypt' stealing it,'' he replied. Anat snorted loudly.

''Alright, I'll bite. Let's do it, and you'll have to tell me how it goes,'' she said. Atem placed the bag in her outstretched hand, and Anat gifted Atem the Lady's ring. Pulling their hoods back up, they reentered society as a Prince and a Thief, separating their paths from one another.

But somewhere inside Atem's heart was a burning fire, one determined to figure out the Thief of Egypt, and help her
escape the life she was trapped inside.

''No, I don't wanna marry her. Never in a million years, sheesh that girl,'' he fake-barfed. Anat chuckled at that. ''Nah, I'm here to make you another deal.''

''Oh?'' Anat raised her eyebrow. Atem pulled out another small pouch of coins.

''You give me the ring, and I'll give you another pouch.''

''Why should I accept this?'' Anat smirked. Atem rolled his eyes playfully.

''Because if Anzu suddenly finds her ring, everyone will assume she just lost it, and she'll be humiliated after making

flashed, and Anat smirked. He waved her into a shadowed alleyway, and she darted in not long after him.

Hidden from the peering eyes of the world, the Prince and Thief removed their hoods, greeting one another as Atem and Anat.

''How did you ditch your guards, eh Atem?'' Anat smirked. Atem smirked back.

''Didn't have to, just snuck out. Anyways, I know you have Lady Anzu's ring,'' he replied. Anat snorted.

''What, you /actually/ thinking of marrying someone?'' Anat asked. Atem scoffed.

gathered food for them. Pulling her hood up, Anat entered the marketplace as an unknown customer.

''Hello miss, what are you looking for?'' a vendor asked. Anat saw he was selling peaches, a rare delicacy in Egypt. She bought four peaches for about 27 gold in total, leaving her with Atem's original 50 he had given her. She spent ten on a loaf of bread, and saved the rest for later. On her way back to her temporary home, she spotted a cloaked figure. When they raised their wrist, a gold bracelet

silver and encrusted with sapphires and blue feathers. Anat low-key whistled, it was pretty dang nice.

''Oh yeah, I stole this from Anzu,'' Anat smirked, and pulled out the ring. It was gold, encrusted with sapphires, which was the Masaki family's trade gem, and a diamond at the top.

''You- you- you stole her family's ring?!'' Karmi gapes. Anat laughed at her friend's dumbstruck attitude. Eventually, the duo agreed to split up; Karmi would take the items to Ker to sell, while Anat went and

Trespass upon these grounds or our ruler with your sins, and face the death none knows about - since none have lived to tell the tale,'' an evil grin split across Anat's face, and with that, she vanished.

And by vanished, what really happened was that she jumped down another alleyway, and started running. She met up with Karmi, and after establishing a new safe point, they checked their loot.

''A variety of jewelry, lots of coins, and even, oh wow, look at this!'' Karmi held a hair comb,

In an attempt to ditch the guards on her tail, Anat scaled up a building to its roof. The guards became confused as they couldn't find her. But when she drew their attention with a sharp whistle, she smirked at the innocent sheep below her.

''Remember this, Masaki family!'' Anat's voice boomed from on top of her high ground. Everyone's attention shifted to the Thief of Egypt, most of the natives recognizing her, their eyes widening. ''I am the Thief of Egypt, and Khemet is /my/ grounds!

distracted, absorbing all the attention like a greedy sponge begging for water. Anat swiped a ring off of Anzu's hand, without her knowing, and dashed off, but unfortunately-

''Hey! Get back here!''

-the Lord Masaki had seen Anat swipe from his daughter. The guards dashed for the Thief of Egypt, while the players and dancers scattered. Anat saw Karmi stealing things left and right from the group in their mass panic, and no one seemed to notice or care at that moment.
