Rivir slid her flat plain silver shoes over her feet. She would have rather not have worn any shoes at all, but her mother scorned her and had said,*It is not ladylike to go the dance especially your first without any shoes. You will where these or you will wear heels!* RIvir, now thinking about it, got away easy. She couldn't imagine wearing heels. Yet she still hates the flats.

THE END
She sprung into the body of water, not caring where she was, that her dress was ruined, that her mother would scold her the second she came home. All she cared about was that she felt free.
She loved the feeling of wind blowing in her face, her hair flowing behind her as she blindly ran in what was now grass.
At this point, her feet had grown numb and she felt like she could sprint for hours.
She continued to run and run and run. How long had she been running? A few seconds? Ten minutes? An hour? She was determined to find the water between her toes. At last, she saw her self in a mirror. No, it was a reflection, created by water!
Really uncomfortable now, she walked away from her seat and when out in the fresh air. Breathing in the air made her forget about the boy, and all she wanted to do was run barefoot into running water.
Suddenly she remembered the creek not too far away from the school. She threw her shoes onto the pavement and ran as fast as she could to were she thought it was.
But after she took them off she felt uncovered. Someone was definitely staring at her, she could feel it! Embarrassed, she slid the uncomfortable shoes right back on her small feet.
Once she did she saw him. There he was staring directly at her, not seeming to notice that she saw him staring at her.
